BR
style totem at Langwathby Station
Langwathby Station closed to passengers on 4th may 1970, having been unstaffed since 1967. Fortunately, along with other secondary stations on the line, it re-opened in 1986. The station buildings at Langwathby have been converted into a restaurant, called the "Brief Encounter". It sound a little corny and the original location from the film of the same name is the dilaphidated Carnforth station on the West Coast Main Line but the conversion has been done to a high standard and the railway associations have been carefully retained. |
